Winner of this year’s competition, Pratyasha Nath from Shri Shikshayatan School, Kolkata who was also a runner-up from the previous season found this year’s competition extremely challenging and faced stiff competition in the finals from her fellow contestant Amaan Ahmed who was also a runner-up from the previous season.

After a nail-biting final round, Pratyasha emerged as the champion only to show everyone that winners don’t fret, they only bounce back stronger.

Ananya G Upadhya was up against tough competition this season and had an ultimate face off with the Grand Finale Finalist from Season 7, Samyukta Srivatsa. At the end of it, the grit of a champion shone through and Ananya became the champion of Season 8. This year, for the very first time, the competition introduced offline tests in schools, facilitated through DVD installations.

In Season 6, Spell Bee took aggressively to digital platforms to create one of the property's most memorable seasons. There was robust participation online as well as from schools. Over 2,50,000 students participated from over 799 schools across India.

Season 5 took the Spell Bee experience to a different level altogether. With online participation more than doubling from its last edition, and with over 1,00,000 new fans on Facebook, Spell Bee became a rage online too. Over 3,00,000 students participated from over 1000 schools across India and, for the first time, the classical Spelling Bee format was adapted into a televised show.

Season 4 was a Spell Bee edition with intense participation. With the introduction of the online test, Spell Bee invited participation from the entire country and was scaled to a totally new level. In addition to this, a massive participation from 1028 schools and more than 3 lakh students made this the most definitive year for Spell Bee.
